One of the UK’s largest independent commercial printing companies has taken over the publisher of a manufacturing magazine with a history stretching back 146 years.
Southwold-based Micropress Printers has bought MM Media, the publisher of Machinery Market magazine.
Machinery Market is one of manufacturing and engineering’s most-respected publications, serving the industries since 1879.
The magazine will join the Countrywide Publications division of Micropress.
MM Media’s four directors had been at the helm of the Bexhill-based company for 14 years, but felt the Micropress acquisition represented an ideal opportunity to secure the long-term future of the magazine.
Machinery Market has been in circulation for 146 years.
A statement from MM Media’s shareholders announcing the change of ownership read: “Micropress offers many synergies which can only enhance the Machinery Market brand and scale its offering to the UK and international manufacturing and engineering sectors.
“It will be ‘business as usual’ moving forward.
“The current directors and staff will remain in place under the Countrywide Publications banner, continuing to manage the magazine, its websites and social media channels.”
