Kuhn Aero 31.1 wins LAMMA 2025 bronze for fertiliser innovation

This recognition highlights the Aero 32.1’s ability to deliver crop nutrition, small seed crops and treatments with greater precision compared to conventional methods. Equipped with Kuhn’s MultiRate 4 technology, the applicator enables four separate application rates to be distributed simultaneously across the boom’s width.

Edd Fanshawe, Kuhn’s arable and connected services product specialist, expressed his pride in the recognition received by the Aero 32.1.

The Aero 32.1 delivers precision fertiliser application, even in windy conditionsThe Aero 32.1 delivers precision fertiliser application, even in windy conditions He said: “We believe the Aero range will become an integral part of crop nutrition applications for growers seeking improvements to accuracy and consistency. Not only this, but the boom design means fertiliser of all types can be applied in windy conditions, when a traditional disc spinner would be stopped.

“The accuracy to field borders is unrivalled and means investment in crop nutrition is maximised and a wider choice of products can be applied. Furthermore, we are helping to protect the environment by only applying the products to the intended area. We are delighted to win the award and continue promoting the benefits of the Aero to growers.” Edd added.

Equipped with a 24-nozzle boom and working widths of 24, 27, 28 or 30 metres, the Aero 32.1 pneumatic fertiliser spreader ensures the right dose is delivered precisely where it’s needed. With its flexible design, it enables farmers to break free from weather-related restrictions and challenges linked to fertiliser quality.

The integrated weighing system makes calibration tests unnecessary, with two weighing cells transmitting real-time data about the fertiliser level in the hopper, enabling adjustments to the metering unit speed for precise application.

Additionally, the Aero 32.1 features hydraulic booms that are controlled directly from the tractor cab for enhanced ease of operation. Its 3200 litre hopper reduces the need for frequent refilling, while the large working width helps to increase efficiency. Safety is ensured with booms that fold to the rear when transporting the machine on the road.

Optional features like micro-granular feed rollers expand the machine’s versatility, allowing for high-precision spreading of microgranules, slug pellets and small seeds. The ‘distance control’ option, with ultrasonic sensors, automates boom height adjustment, ensuring optimal performance even at night or at high speeds.
