Chelsea stars set to land six-figure bonus each thanks to Club World Cup triumph

Any Chelsea players feeling the wear and tear from the gruelling Club World Cup will be delighted to find a hefty bonus in their bank accounts.

The Blues, fresh off a stunning 3-0 final win over Paris Saint-Germain, are flush with money, reportedly banking a £84.5million cut of the competition’s £1billion prize fund.

And it doesn’t end there either, with each of their players also getting a £350,000 bonus, according to The Telegraph.

That will certainly make amends for whichever player missed out on a winner’s medal after US president Donald Trump was seen pinching one.

The good news doesn’t stop when it comes to Chelsea’s finances, with the same outlet reporting that their decision to hold off on a shirt sponsor will now pay huge dividends.

The west London side haven’t had a front of shirt sponsor for the past two seasons, and you could make the argument potential investors weren’t missing out.

The start of the Todd Boehly-fronted Clearlake Capital era saw two trophyless campaigns and average Premier League finishes, resulting in £40m-per-year sponsorship offers.

Yet with two trophies in 2024/25 and Champions League football back at Stamford Bridge next season, The Telegraph believe offers are now in the range of £60m-per-year.

A source told the outlet: “Chelsea would have left as much as £100m on the table by agreeing a long-term front-of-shirt sponsorship this time last year.

“With Champions League qualification and the Club World Cup, the club can now negotiate a much bigger deal.”

Everyone at Chelsea is clearly delighted with the last couple of months, culminating in their surprise trouncing of European champions PSG.

Yet there is one caveat – Noni Madueke might miss out on his payday.

The England winger played five games at the Club World Cup, but left before the final to complete his switch to Arsenal.

It’s unclear whether that means he will also pocket the £350,000 bonus his teammates are anticipating.

Amid all the positivity at the Bridge, chairman Boehly was able to give some words of thanks to fans after a difficult start.

Speaking to talkSPORT the American businessman said: “No one gave us a chance to beat PSG, and the boys really thrived and grew on that.

“Watching them come together over the last couple of weeks in America has been very special.

“I think the form that you’ve seen is everything we hoped when we were putting this together with [co-sporting directors] Laurence [Stewart] and Paul [Winstanley].

“Behdad [Eghbali, co-owner] and I couldn’t be more grateful for the success that they’ve had, and for all Chelsea fans everywhere.

“We’re just so thrilled, and thank you for sticking with us. We’re really excited about what the future holds.”
