The play area, in Bucklesham Playing Fields on the outskirts of Ipswich, will be replaced.
Following a meeting last month by Bucklesham Parish Council, it has been decided that new play equipment was required on the site to make it safer and more modern.
Several pieces of the Trim Trail has already been removed due to safety concerns, and any subsequent equipment removals will be re-used to make wildlife habitats for the playing field including bird boxes and bee hotels.

A small committee was formed, including parish councillors, parents of children in the village and the playing field manager, who will make decisions with help from children who have put forward their desires to be included in the refurbishment.
A spokesperson for Bucklesham Parish Council said: “We had an open morning and children were able to put forward what they would like to see and what they will play with.
“We had mums who have children with additional needs come and say what they would like to see for their children because at the moment, we don’t have any sensory pieces set up so we wanted to make sure that some were put in as part of the new equipment so that children with additional needs can also access and enjoy the park.”

The refurbishment of the play area will be done by Gressenhall-based company NGF Play, who have refurbished a number of play areas around Suffolk and Norfolk in the past and came recommended to the parish council from other local authorities.
In order to raise the £100,000, the parish council are relying on grant funding as well as hosting their own fundraising events, including a 10-hour Bounce-A-Thon on the playing field where children of all ages, ranging from 20 months to 14-years-old will bounce for 10-hours straight on a bouncy castle in a rotation system.
