Not only do world snooker champions receive a beautiful trophy for winning the tournament, they also claim a huge amount of money.
Last year, Kyren Wilson got his hands on £500,000 for conquering the World Snooker Championship – but he was unable to do it again.

Wilson has become the latest victim of the infamous Crucible curse after being knocked out in the opening round.
Instead, the returning Ronnie O’Sullivan and world No.1 Judd Trump are among the stars now aiming to take his crown.
It was a massive half-a-million winning prize in 2024, but what is the whopping payout this year?
World Snooker Championship 2025 prize money
A total of £2.395million will be available at the World Snooker Championship.
This is the same amount of money that was on offer at last year’s tournament and the winner of the World Championship will claim £500,000 once again.
Second place recieves £200,000 while losers in the semi-finals take home £100,000.
For losing in the quarter-finals, players depart with £50,000 each while last 16 finishers receive £30,000.
There is also money on offer for the highest break, which has been achieved three times already.
Jackson Page made history in qualifying with two 147s in the same match, and he must now share the prize with Mark Allen after he made one in his second-round contest against Chris Wakelin.

World Snooker Championship: Dates and how to follow
The 2025 World Snooker Championship began on Saturday, April 19 and will run all the way through to Monday, May 5.
It is being held at the iconic Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
Morning sessions are scheduled to begin at 10am each day, with afternoon sessions starting at 2:30pm and evening sessions at 7pm.
Fans will be able to watch the action live and free-to-air across the BBC and on iPlayer.
