Liverpool face Spanish side Sevilla on Sunday, in their final pre-season friendly before the new Premier League campaign starts.
Arne Slot’s side have won all three of their friendlies so far this summer, and the Dutchman will hope his side can continue their strong form when they face Sevilla, before they start the new season against Ipswich Town.
In the meantime, it appears that one of the Reds’ most talented youngsters could soon depart the club on loan.
According to Football Insider, Liverpool are prepared to let Ben Doak join another Premier League side on loan before the transfer window ends.
The 18-year-old winger is said to have attracted interest from top flight clubs including Southampton, Leicester City and Brentford.
The Scot joined Liverpool’s youth academy from Celtic in 2022, having made two senior appearances for the Scottish Premiership champions.
He has since played ten times for the reds across all competitions, but he is yet to properly establish himself in the first team setup at Anfield.
Last season, the teenager was hampered by injuries and limited to just five appearances, although he may have played more often for Jurgen Klopp’s side if he had managed to stay fit.
It is claimed that Liverpool are prepared to allow the youngster to depart on loan in order to help him gain valuable first team experience over the next 12 months.
Doak was involved in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over rivals Liverpool in their most recent pre-season outing.
