Only three of the top 30 money leaders and 16 of the top 50 on the PGA Tour are entered in this week’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson, which begins May 1 at TPC Craig Ranch near Dallas.
But one of them will be poised to make a huge move back to where he occupied most of the 2024 season: world No. 1-ranked Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler, at No. 7, is the highest-ranked player on the money list in the field this week. The only others among the top 30 are No. 15 Sungjae Im and No. 25 Ben Griffin.

Scheffler won’t be able to catch money leader Rory McIlroy with a victory this week. But with a first-place check of $1,782,000 and none of the top-six players in the field, he can climb as high as third behind Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas if he wins.
Griffin is coming off his first PGA Tour victory, which he shared with Andrew Novak at last week’s Zurich Classic.
But there isn’t likely to be much movement overall on the money list, outside of Scheffler winning.
