Hyderabad: Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Saturday said all farmers’ loans up to 2 lakh have been waived in the state. However, the farmers whose crop loans have not been waived due to incorrect Aadhaar details or other reasons should contact their nearest agriculture officer for assistance.
The govt will apply the loan waiver to them upon verification of their records.
The mandal agriculture officers are responsible for resolving issues related to bank branches and PACS under their jurisdiction. TNN

Harish highlighted that only Rs 17,000 crores were waived, far less than the promised Rs 40,000 crores. He also condemned the Congress for attacking the BRS office in Siddipet and warned of serious consequences if such actions continued.

Gold loan companies have not been hurt by RBI rules, gold prices: Crisil
Crisil reported that gold-loan companies were not significantly impacted by the RBI’s directive to limit cash disbursements or the fall in gold prices. Despite initial concerns, loan disbursements increased by 12% in June 2024, supported by operational resilience, regulatory adaptability, and favorable gold prices, maintaining loan-to-value ratios effectively.
