Angellica Bell ‘will address’ Martin Lewis Money Show exit in Celebrity Big Brother

Angellica, a well-respected presenter with an extensive career spanning more than two decades in children’s TV and daytime programming, left the programme in 2023 – a show she had contributed to since its inception in 2017.

Angellica Bell’s unexpected departure from ITV’s The Martin Lewis Money Show has remained a topic shrouded in silence, but her close pal and former CBBC cohort Andrew Hayden-Smith has now divulged the potential reason for the hush.

Angellica, a well-respected presenter with an extensive career spanning more than two decades in children’s TV and daytime programming, left the programme in 2023 – a show she had contributed to since its inception in 2017.

It was relayed that Angellica learned she was no longer needed on the series and found herself supplanted by ex-Olympian and presenter Jeanette Kwakye. This switch coincided with Angellica gearing up to lead a new incarnation of The Gadget Show titled Shop Smart, Save Money for Channel 5.

Speculation suggested that this move caused a ‘conflict of interest’, leading to her swift removal from The Martin Lewis Money Show.

The silence around the incident has been noticeable, particularly within the walls of the Celebrity Big Brother house, despite hints dropped by Angellica’s husband Michael Underwood in response to fan curiosity on TikTok. So far, Big Brother viewers have yet to witness Angellica bringing up the topic, reports the Mirror.

However, in an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Andrew explained that while Angellica is open to discussing the matter, circumstances for the discussion simply haven’t arisen in the house. When probed about the likelihood of Angellica revealing the full story, Andrew commented: “Maybe, if it comes up. I did ask her if she would address it, and she said ‘yeah, if it comes up in conversation’. It happened, you know?”

ITV previously expressed, “Angellica is not working on the Martin Lewis Money Show Live, however, the relationship with her remains amicable and we are working with her on other forthcoming programmes.”

In a nail-biting Easter special of the show tonight, Angellica finds herself facing the public vote for the first time, alongside TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise, EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer, Love Island’s Chris Hughes, and Drag Race icon Danny Beard after intense face to face nominations. Housemates were seen placing their eggs in the baskets of those they wanted to nominate.

An emotional moment ensued as Angellica, while nominating Patsy, tearfully admitted, “I don’t feel like you think I’m good enough.”

The stakes were heightened when Big Brother announced an additional twist – among the five housemates up for eviction, one could secure safety by finding a golden egg. Luck favoured JoJo Siwa in this challenge, but Big Brother’s penchant for surprises meant there was more to come.

After escaping the vote, JoJo was tasked with selecting someone to take her place, leading her to pick Danny Beard, explaining that he occasionally needs to “read the room” better with his jokes.

Tonight’s episode promises high drama with a major eviction set to occur – three housemates will leave just days before the grand final, amid another live visit to the house from AJ Odudu and Will Best.
