The bank said its tech teams were working to fix the problem.
PNC Bank customers reported problems trying to access the institution’s mobile app Friday and the bank said its tech team was working on a remedy.
Outage monitoring site Downdetector received 1,194 problem reports on PNC by 10:40 a.m., with most related to mobile banking and login. Some reports indicated problems with online login as well, but PNC said the access problem related to mobile banking only.
“Good morning! Some customers are experiencing access issues with mobile banking at this time. Our technical teams are engaged and working to restore access as soon as possible. Online banking is currently available. Thanks for your patience,” the PNC Bank Help account on X, formerly Twitter, posted at 9:43 a.m.
Customers posted complaints on X, including one who wrote: “pnc’s app being down is gonna make me go insane actually.”
“@PNCBank_Help do you know when mobile access will be restored? Unfortunately Zelle is only available through the app and I need to pay for childcare today,” another posted.
