Citi’s global head of equities execution quants is leaving; a London MD is off the desk

Share

Changes are occurring in Citi’s electronic execution business, although their extent is unclear.

In New York, we understand that Gabriel H. Tucci, a managing director and the bank’s global head of the equities execution quant team, has resigned. In London, Jamie Miller, the co-head of EMEA electronic execution is off the desk and appears to have had his Bloomberg terminal profile deleted. Miller is, however, still understood to be employed by Citi.

Neither Tucci nor Miller responded to our queries on their whereabouts and Citi declined to comment on the situation of either man. We understand, though, that Tucci will soon resurface in a role elsewhere.

Tucci joined Citi in 2016 and initially worked on the central risk desk. He became an MD and global head of equities cash quants in 2020, before becoming head of execution quants in 2023. Tucci seems the sort of person an electronic trading firm might like to hire.

Miller has been at Citi for 10 years too and became the co-head of EMEA electronic execution in July 2025. It’s conceivable that he still is, but presumably he will need a new Bloomberg profile if this is so.

Citi has been investing in its electronic equities business as it seeks to woo hedge fund clients. Equities revenues at the bank rose 39% year-on-year in the first quarter.
