The amateur-level paddle has alone claimed a 26.8 per cent market share in 2025.

The pickleball equipment market will explode to $702.9 million by the end of 2025 and has been projected to reach $1,848.1 million by 2032, exhibiting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.8 per cent from 2025 to 2032, a latest research by Coherent Market Insights (CMI) stated.
The paddle segment itself has been projected to generate a market revenue of around $203.84 million in 2025. While the professional pickleball paddle remains the costliest among all levels, it is the amateur-level paddle that will dominate the market, with this category alone claiming a 26.8 per cent market share in 2025.

In terms of usage, the research stated, the competitive play segment is accounting for more than half of the global pickleball equipment market share in 2025.

The pickleball market in North America, with the US being the most dominant market with bustling pickleball activities, remains the most attractive. And it is expected to be valued at around $384.48 million by the end of 2025.
However, the fastest growth has been reported in the Asia Pacific region, noted the CMI forecast, due to the increasing popularity of pickleball.

Pickleball is now the fastest-growing sport in the world. Due to its easy access, zero training requirements, no age barrier and faster learning experience, it has spurred its exceptional growth both in North America as well as Asia, one of the most racquet-loving continents in the world. As pickleball offers numerous health benefits and being a low-impact sport that supports cardiovascular health and muscle conditioning, it has become hugely popular among working professionals and older people.

In New Delhi, in May, a lawyers-only pickleball event took place, as they deemed pickleball as a way of releasing stress. Our latest report demonstrated how bankers and IT professionals are turning to pickleball to enjoy sports and stay fit. Pickleball has already become the go-to sport at residential complexes, resorts, clubs, and recreational centres. Additionally, the sport’s global visibility is being boosted by the increasing number of tournaments and the active involvement of national and international pickleball associations.

Factors fuelling the growth

Coherent Market Insights’ latest pickleball equipment market research report outlines key factors fuelling the market growth. One such prominent growth factor is the increasing popularity of pickleball as a recreational sport.

Interest in pickleball has been increasing, particularly in the United States, Canada, Asia, and several European countries. Among the Asian countries, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, and China have emerged as the most attractive markets due to the sport’s exceptional growth.

According to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association (SFIA), pickleball is currently the fastest-growing sport in America. Participation increased by 51.8 per cent from 2022 to 2023, and by 223.5 per cent over the past three years. This surge in participation is directly influencing sales of pickleball equipment. It is also booming at an exponential rate in Asia.

Similarly, with the number of tournaments on the rise across the world, it has provided an impetus to the demand for pickleball equipment like paddles, balls, and nets in the coming years.

However, there is still a catch. The high cost of premium equipment and limited awareness pose a significant challenge to broader market growth. Despite its growth in North America, Asia, and parts of Europe, it remains a not-so-popular sport in Africa and Latin America, where padel remains the most attractive sport among emerging sports. Along with the equipment, there is another hindrance to pickleball’s growth in low- and middle-income countries – the high cost of paddles and apparel.

While there is a challenge, dedicated pickleball facilities are on the rise across the world. In the US, community initiatives have also been taken to build pickleball facilities at parks and community centres due to health benefits and ease of playing.

The use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in equipment creation is set to cut the cost of manufacturing and ensure consistent quality control. Also, smart paddles embedded with sensors and IoT chips now track swing speed, impact location, and spin in real time. Similarly, AI-driven automation streamlines.
