EPIC names James Pierce as Chairman of Natural Resources practice

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants (EPIC), a national insurance brokerage and consulting firm, has announced the appointment of James R. Pierce as Chairman within its Natural Resources practice.

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants In this role, Pierce will further strengthen the practice’s capabilities, support the recruitment of senior talent, and help deliver tailored risk and insurance solutions to clients across the energy sector. He will also guide the long-term strategy and culture of the practice, while reinforcing its specialist expertise.

He brings more than 25 years of industry experience across the energy and risk advisory markets, having built and led highly respected businesses throughout his career.

Pierce joined EPIC in June 2025 as a Senior Advisor, where he has played a key role in expanding the firm’s presence and credibility within natural resources, developing strategic relationships with leading organisations, and positioning the firm for continued growth.

Prior to EPIC, he served as Chairman, Global Energy and Power at Marsh Specialty.

Previously, Pierce served as Chairman, JLT Specialty USA, and was also Deputy Co-Chair, Head-Enery, Power, and Mining, JLT Specialty.

EPIC’s Natural Resources practice will remain focused on the upstream and midstream sectors while expanding its renewable energy capabilities nationwide. As the practice grows, the firm also plans to broaden its offering into downstream and power-related business lines.
