Cowboys Headlines: Sweat equity? Collins’ new deal bests Pickens

This year’s post June 1 activity feels likely to produce intriguing movement, and a few names such as Saints running back Alvin Kamara and Cardinals edge rusher Josh Sweat have Cowboys Nation ready to pounce.

While Dallas fans await potential additions, current members, such as kicker Brandon Aubrey, continue to work on the secret sauce that brought them into the league. Like the former spring league standout, rookie UDFA running back Dominic Richardson hopes to jump the line and emerge out of nowhere to claim a roster spot.

Elsewhere, the triplets were used to making headlines for the Cowboys and just like old times, they did so once again. Hall-of-Fame RB Emmitt Smith spoke out on the importance of having a quiet offseason while HOF wideout Micheal Irvin expressed his frustration with QB Troy Aikman not having a “Joh Elway”type role with the Cowboys and helping Miami with a few front office tasks instead.

In other news, OTA’s have begun around the league and the 2026 rookie class is beginning to adapt to new surroundings. In Tennessee, receiver Carnell Tate is expected to have an explosive year according to QB Cam Ward. Once an afterthought, the class might get another name added to its ranks thanks to the supplemental draft after Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby was denied NCAA reinstatement.

Lastly, the trend around the league was new money which a few players rightfully received. The Chargers made safety Derwin James the leagues highest paid safety while down in Houston, wideout Nico Collins got a pay bump after trade rumors swirled. While those players got the coveted job security, Packers RB Josh Jacobs may be out of one after he was arrested for domestic battery among other accusations.
