The Phoenix Suns have a busy offseason ahead of them.
They’ve already been quite active, firing head coach Mike Budenholzer. Before starting their search for a new head coach, the Suns significantly changed the front office.

They promoted Brian Gregory from vice president of player programming to the new general manager, while James Jones will now step into a senior advisory role.
On top of finding a new coach, many believe Gregory will also make roster changes.

Phoenix Suns pitched to land former Durant teammate
Despite dealing with injuries, there was a lot of buzz surrounding Kevin Durant this season, particularly at the trade deadline.
After exploring trade opportunities, the Suns kept Durant at the deadline. Whether it was because they wanted to make a final push for the NBA Play-In Tournament spot or because they didn’t find a deal that was attractive enough is unclear.

Gregory is in a tough spot. Owner Mat Ishbia and Gregory will have to figure out whether they want to trade Durant in an effort to recoup some draft capital and future assets, or run it back with last year’s team with minor changes around the core of Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
If they opt for the latter, the Suns could bring in a former teammate of Durant’s in Steven Adams.
Bruce Veliz of SB Nation’s Bright Side of the Sun details why Adams would be a good fit.
“This season, he demonstrated his ability to be a solid paint defender, rebounder, and shot blocker once again,” Veliz wrote. “This is someone similar to Capela, who fits this role for the Suns.

“Similar to Capela, I do feel that having him share those minutes with Richards would still be valuable for this team.”
While the Golden State Warriors often put Adams on the line in their playoff series, Adams brings a rigid body inside that will make his presence felt on a team that didn’t have much physicality a season ago.
