Vaulted, the leading gold investment app from McAlvany Financial Group, has launched an irreverent new explainer video featuring the return of its iconic spokesperson, King Tut.
Portrayed by Chris Guerra – founder of Oddity Improv in Franklin, TN – the pharaoh for our times shows viewers just how easy it is to stack up on physical gold and become (almost) as iconic as he is. The result is an entertaining, informative guide designed to demystify gold investing for today’s audience.
The three-minute video opens in the pyramids of Egypt, where viewers find King Tut in his tomb, ready to reveal his secrets on securing timeless gold. With a mix of visual humour and practical insight – featuring everything from his lavish gold possessions to his less-than-subtle dismissal of paper currency – Tut draws viewers in while reinforcing gold’s enduring value during times of economic uncertainty.
Created by independent ad agency Fire Kite, the spot builds on the success of Vaulted’s previous campaigns, ‘Because Gold’ and ‘Free Gold Never Happens.’ The new work continues to position gold as both culturally relevant and financially strategic for modern investors. With more than 43,000 app users and assets doubling over the past year, Vaulted is gaining momentum as a simplified, accessible way to invest in physical gold.
Structured in three segments, the video highlights the ease of using the Vaulted app while addressing common investor questions – all with Tut confidently leading the way:
How Do I Buy Gold?
King Tut demonstrates how users can seamlessly purchase physical gold through the Vaulted app, walking through key steps such as account setup, bank connection, fund transfers, and finalising purchases – all within a streamlined digital experience.
Where Does Vaulted Keep My Metal?
Gold is securely stored at the Royal Canadian Mint, one of the world’s most trusted vaulting facilities. By keeping gold at its point of production, Vaulted eliminates 70% of the traditional supply chain, helping deliver some of the lowest buy and sell fees in the industry – without compromising security.
How Much Should I Invest?
The video outlines general allocation guidance, recommending a minimum of 10%, with higher allocations for those nearing retirement. In true character, however, Tut declares himself ‘all in,’ reinforcing gold as a reliable way to preserve wealth over time.
“Just like gold, this brand platform is the gift that keeps on giving. We brought back Tut to remind people of the value of precious metals. Now he’s smoking cigarettes, drinking goldschlager and talking about marrying his half-sister. I’ll be honest, I’m slightly concerned about where this will go next” half-joked Alex Goulart, founder and executive creative director at Fire Kite.
“Gold is more than just a cultural icon. It’s the critical foundation of a balanced investment portfolio that provides stability and confidence,” said David McAlvany, CEO of McAlvany Financial Group. “Vaulted has made owning real gold much easier than most people realise.”
In addition to the video, Fire Kite recently completed a comprehensive redesign of Vaulted.com creating a more modern, intuitive experience that reflects the simplicity and sophistication of the platform.
