Grŵp Cynefin and First Choice Housing Association wish to build a 29-home complex on a forgotten sports pitch next to Tŷ Hapus Community Centre, Cwm Road.
The development would be made up of semi-detached houses, terraced properties and apartments, which would be provided as affordable social housing for let.
The multi-use games area (MUGA) to be developed on is described as being in a “poor condition”.

A planning statement from Cadnant Planning said: “The scheme adopts a housing mix which aims to meet the needs of Llandudno as well as the wider Conwy area contributing towards the much-needed supply of social housing.
“The evidence provided from the LHMA and social housing registers are considered to justify the housing mix and it is considered to be acceptable on this basis.

Plans for industrial unit at derelict Llandudno site refused
“The application site comprises of a derelict multi-use games area (MUGA) which is in poor condition and has fallen into disuse in recent years.
“Due to the poor condition of the MUGA and it falling out of use in recent years, the site is not included within the areas of Public Open Space (POS) provision by Conwy County Borough Council and is therefore considered to be a brownfield site.”
The plans are currently in a pre-application stage, with a public consultation open until April 27 – you can share your thoughts by emailing PAC@cadnantplanning.co.uk.
