A WHO Wants To Be A Millionaire player won a staggering amount of money on tonight’s show – but would you have got it right?
The latest episode of the ITV quiz show saw Jeremy Clarkson pose questions to Jack, a bus driver from Swindon.
He steadily made his way up the board, before taking a bit of a risk answering a question to secure him £64,000, which he had set as his second safety net.
Jack then took a chance on the £125k question considering he had nothing to lose, and got it right.
It was then time for the £250k question, which was: “Which of these words can be spelled in full by combining chemical symbols from the periodic table of elements?”
Jack was given the options: A) Biology, B) Chemistry, C)Physics and D) Science.
After a moment, he said: “I think I’ve just figured it out.”
Jeremy warned him how much he could lose if he got it wrong but he replied: “At the moment I’m thinking it’s Physics.”
He then went through his workings out loud before saying: “Physics, final answer.”
After a pause, before the answer was revealed, Jack doubted himself and said: “I don’t know what I’ve done now.”
But Jeremy then put him out of his misery and said he had got it right and had secured £250k.
Jack then took a look at the half a million pound question, but with no lifelines and no idea of where to start working it out, he decided to take the money and leave with £250,000.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire viewers were delighted for Jack, with one writing on X: “Fantastic. What a contestant. Properly well deserved!”
Another added: “So pleased for him played it perfectly.”
A third tweeted: “Brilliant player. Loved how he took chances.”
Meanwhile a fourth shared: “absolute masterclass from Jack.”
