The transfer window churns on, even as the Premier League has begun. Liverpool have won their first two matches but they are not currently winning the transfer market. The restructure is slow-going, but right now there are more going out than coming in.
Another player garnering outside interest is Tyler Morton. The 21-year-old midfielder is said to be of particular interest to Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen. Morton has spent the last two seasons in the Championship with first Blackburn Rovers and then Hull City.
The Englishman has been training with the first team for the preseason and as the season starts, but has yet to make the bench for Arne Slot. Alonso wants him for another season long loan. Liverpool are considering it at the moment, but a decision could be based on any business they due between now and the end of the window. This is because the Reds are competing in four competitions and need to prepare for a long eight months.
The cogs continue to turn while fans are eager to see the completion of Slot’s first new arrival. In the meantime, it’s likely some other fringe players, like Morton, may see their way out before the dust settles.
