RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) – Riley County Clerk’s Office will no longer sell Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks permits and licenses.
According to Riley County officials, effective July 1, Riley County government offices will no longer sell KDWP licenses and permits. These include hunting and fishing licenses and boating registrations.
“We process very few of these licenses, and they’re readily available online and at multiple other locations. Discontinuing this service allows our staff to concentrate on their primary duties, such as elections, tax roll processing, budget, human resources, accounts payable, payroll, and record-keeping for the county,” explained Riley County Clerk Rich Vargo.
Riley County officials said previously, elections staff managed these license and registration services as a convenience for customers. The new elections office in the adjacent building is expected to be completed in early July. Elections staff will move to the new location promptly to focus on preparations for the upcoming election. Despite this change, customers can still purchase annual state park passes when renewing vehicle tags at the Treasurer’s Office.
